The New Biomedlase Nd:YAG laser represents a new avenue in the use of laser technology in the treatment of thread veins. The laser can now be programmed specifically to treat red or thread veins whilst ensuring that there is no permanent damage to the skin. |

The Treatment

A pricking sensation will be experienced
during the treatment as the laser beam is traced along the line of the
vein. Following treatment, the area will be reddened because of the coagulation
taking place in the veins. There may be some minute scabbing occurring.
The reddening of the vein will largely fade in 48-72 hours and completely
within 4-12 weeks. There is no longer any risk of long term term pigmentation
change in the skin nor any scarring that can often be a feature of other
methods. Large areas may need treatment over more than one session and
each area may need more than one treatment.

There is no bandaging post treatment but hot baths or showers shold be avoided until the redness fades. The technique can be applied to any kind of skin complexion because it doesn't cause loss of pigmentation. It treats red spots and all spider veins either on the legs, the feet as well as troublesome facial red veins. It is suited for the treatment of both men and women. |
