The Treatment The treatment is not painful, but a slight prickling sensation will be experienced. Following treatment, the area will be reddened because of the coagulation taking place in the veins. There may be some minute scabbing occurring. Immediately after treatment there will be some reddening of the vein this will largely fade in 48-72 hours and completely within 4-12 weeks. There is no long term pigmentation change in the skin nor any scarring that can often be a feature of other methods. Large areas may need treatment over more than one session and each area may need more than one treatment. |

proK - Vitamin K Cream Vitamin K promotes the healthy healing of the skin and this property is well documented and has been known since the early 1900's. It also is an important factor causing blood to clot. Used alongside the Veinwave treatment it not only promotes healing but will also help to eliminate the extra fine thread veins and will also help disperse the ultrafine vessels associated with rosacea. proK can be effective for use on its own for the reduction of ultrafine veins. In either case the cream should be applied lightly to moist skin twice a day. Results can take up to 6-8 weeks to appear although in some cases it can be quicker. The Consultation Red veins can be treated by Veinwave, laser or by IPL (intense pulse light) methods. The techniques al rely on the thermocoagulation property of blood. This means that if blood is heated then it coagulates or forms a clot which obstructs the blood flow. The means by which these techniques achieve this differs.
