Holistic Therapies - September 2003 The Clinic is pleased to welcome Ala Sireyyeh who joins the clinic to offer three holistic therapies that add to the range offered by the clinic. Ala is qualified in Aromatherapy and will offer treatments using oils prescribed individually for specific problems. She is also qualified in Reflexology so that we will be re-introducing this therapy. For those on whom life's fast pace is taking its toll she also offers stress massage. Ala holds ITEC and VTCT certificates in the Holistic therapies she offers.
A relatively new therapy introduced at the clinic is Indian Head Massage. This technique is also useful for relieving the effects of stress around the head and shoulders and is based on techniques of Indian Ayurvedic medicine. Carla-Jane, the therapist is qualified with IIHHT.

European Week for Safety and Health at Work - October 2002 European Week for Safety and Health at Work commences 14th October. This year it concentrates on the prevention of stress at work. One estimate suggests that this is a problem for over half a million workers.
Stress manifests itself in many ways ion the work place but many are associated with the design and organisation of tasks and the work place. It affects those in heavy industry as well as those undertaking lighter duties in offices and using VDU's.
